PADI Advanced Open Water Class

This is truly one of the most enjoyable classes you can take and it will greatly increase your experience level! You will earn a higher rated and more respected level of certification. Being a Salem Scuba & PADI Advanced diver will often allow you access to more dramatic and exciting dive sites, that many dive operators will only take Advanced Open Water divers or higher. This is the class that really puts you over the top to becoming a much more comfortable diver, so you many enjoy your diving to the fullest!

The class consists of one classroom session and 5 open water dives. This is the course that gets you diving! Diving for learning and better yet, diving for fun! You won’t have to do any beginning skills in our Advanced class. For those who have not been diving for a while, we offer a FREE refresher pool session to anyone enrolled in our Advanced class.

On the 5 open water dives, 2 will be core or required dives & 3 will be elective dives. The 1 st core dive is a navigation dive. You will learn distance measuring, increased compass techniques, and more. The 2 nd is your deep dive. Your instructor will accompany you on a dive from 70' to 100', depending on conditions. You choose the 3 elective dives! There are many to choose from! In the summer, you can do the very exciting drift dive at Big Cliff Dam at Detroit Lake and/or an altitude dive at Clear Lake, in 300' of visibility! You may travel to Hoodsport, WA for your class. One of the biggest pleasures of Salem Scuba's Advanced class is having an expert underwater guide show you where the Wolf Eels & the Giant Pacific Octopus live on a naturalist dive ! Formerly required, the night dive is very popular & many say it was their best dive experience of the class! Especially when we turn off our lights and experience the bio-luminance! It’s just incredible!

The cost of the course is just $145 per person, plus the Advanced Open Water book for $49. This is one of the most informative dive books out there. Rental gear for the weekend is discounted for the class…generally $25-$55. Drysuits are available for only $50 for the weekend! (reg. $90)  If you choose drysuit diver as one of your elective dives, Salem Scuba will give you the additional training required for FREE! This usually includes a pool session prior to the weekend dives.
